LEARNING AT Les Roches

A Degree from Les Roches

Today's hospitality industry needs leaders who are skilled in finance and technology and can communicate with people of all levels and cultures. Whether you are just entering the hospitality field, or already have several years of experience, you have the potential to become a successful manager - one who is sophisticated, multi-lingual and able to handle multiple activities in a rapidly changing global environment.

Les Roches places a strong emphasis on hands-on and practical learning, setting it apart from many other hotel schools. Whether in a shop, bank or hotel, great service is never a matter of chance. In our industry, it is based on preparation and a clear appreciation of consumer needs and behaviors.

Upon graduation, our students are more than prepared to either begin a career or further their current position in the hospitality industry. Each semester, a number of the industry's top employers make recruitment visits to our campus. Sometimes three or four companies will come in one week, creating a buzz of excitement amongst the students.

Programmes

Les Roches offers three undergraduate degree programmes and two graduate study options. All our programmes combine course material and extensive hands-on participation and training.

In the first two years of the SHA Hotel Management Diploma programme, approximately 50% of your time will be spent in hands-on training outside the classroom environment. During the third year of the programme, you will concentrate more on developing your management skills.

The 4th year Bachelor of Business Administration, offering small classes and a focused facuty, involves a participative project and a research-driven style of teaching. During this year, the academic focus moves towards the business skills required in the greater hospitality and tourism industries.

A Post-graduate Diploma in Hospitality Management may be the option for you if you already hold a Bachelor's Degree and are looking to make a career change into the hospitality industry. The year- long programme will teach you about such subjects as Business Management and traditional Swiss culinary art, followed by an exciting three-month internship within the industry.

Our UEM MBA Programme (non NEASC) can easily be completed in just under one year. There are four 10-week modules followed by a thesis project that will be completed in correlation with your current line of work.
