Intensive Language Instruction
New HO I and English Enhancement Program
Les Roches International School of Hotel Management in Bluche
Switzerland is offering a special first year program combining the SHA and
English program courses to students who do not meet the English
requirement criteria at the start of the diploma program.
Program Objective:
To provide students with the relevant English language skills including
comprehension, listening, writing and speaking as well as with an
introduction to hospitality through classes and craft based learning (HO I)
in order to bring their English to the required TOEFL 500 (IELTS 5.0)
equivalent by the time they start HO II.
Program Sequence:
This special program is spread over 2 semesters of studies called HO 1A
and HO 1B. These 2 semesters blend courses from
the English program as well as the standard HO I semester. Students will
follow these 2 semesters back to back and then go on their first
internship, preferably in an English speaking country. Then they will join
the rest of the standard SHA diploma from HO II onward.
English Admissions Criteria:
In order to enroll on this program, students must have a minimum of
TOEFL 400 points (IELTS 4.0) or equivalent as well as meet all other
academic and non academic criteria of the SHA diploma (age, education
level, etc.).
This program will allow students to gain TOEFL 50 points (IELTS 0.5
points) per semester. Therefore the English level improvement will be the
